Last Month, Amidst The Partial Lockdown In Thailan..

Last month, amidst the partial lockdown in Thailand, Soi Dog’s Animal Rescue Officers based in Bangkok were fortunately able to travel to four suburban areas to rescue a family of shy dogs including puppies.

Keeping in line with social distancing, our Bangkok team found the feral dogs hiding in bushes, under abandoned buildings, and at landfill sites scavenging for food, away from populated areas. Once caught, they were transported to our clinic where they received vaccinations before neutering. They will be returned to their safe territory only once they are determined physically and medically healthy.

Soi Dog Foundation’s CNVR (Catch I Neuter I Vaccinate I Return) projects are planned after careful estimations of the dog population in a chosen area. Decrease in dog numbers can only be seen when at least 80% of the population has been neutered. It is also important to revisit areas and carry out a post operation evaluation to assess the impact.

Even though it takes time to see results, neutering is the most effective and humane method to solve the population crisis of stray dogs and cats.

Thanks to your ongoing support, we are able to continue the vital work of reducing the stray dog and cat population which in turn reduces the number of unwanted dogs and cats being born into a world of suffering.
