Better Watch What We Watch

Yesterday, I watched a most horrible movie which has, unfortunately, been hailed as a “hot movie” amongst the younger generation.
It tells of a time in the future where a great (failed) revolution had taken place, and to punish the people who fought in the revolution, each district would have to send two of their young people (a boy and a girl) to fight to the death in the “games” which is a TV game show watched and cheered on by millions of viewers.
The movie shows how young teenagers brutally kill each other as the games get underway. There is no mercy in them; they have been brainwashed to kill.
Kill, for the sake of winning the games, because the rules of the games is that all must be killed; only one will win.
This is NOT the law of the jungle where carnivorous animals only kill when hungry. This is violence, hatred and evil, glorified on the silver screen.
I seldom get angry, but I was VERY angry at the people who produced this movie.
What message did they wish to convey in such a horrible and irresponsible movie?
We wonder why our teenagers have no qualms killing each other, killing their elders, going on a shooting spree in school, indulging in brutal massacre of street animals and laughing over it.
Need we wonder why?
Just look at the things they watch, you’ll see why.
We already see children committing massacre of animals on many facebook links.
Will we see an increase in the number of children murdering other children after this? If we do, we only have ourselves to blame.
Please do not patronize movies that glorify killing.
