Help Stop This Vile Practce!

Last month, Vietnam drafted a directive to ban the illegal trade and consumption of wildlife; a move we welcomed. However, we strongly urged the authorities to include companion animals in the directive as dog and cat meat stalls are all too common at the same wet markets that trade in exotic wildlife.

But the sad reality has now presented itself – sales of dog and cat meat have risen in Vietnam. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/coronavirus-dog-cat-meat-vietnam-cambodia-indonesia-animals-covid19-four-paws-a9464946.html

As part of Soi Dog Foundation’s campaign in Hanoi, we are asking Formula 1 to use their influence to push for an end to the dog meat trade there. Their inaugural Grand Prix in the city, originally scheduled for the start of this month, was one of the many sporting events to be postponed or cancelled under strict global guidelines now in force. But while the world grinds to a halt, the killing and consumption of thousands of innocent dogs and cats continues unabated.

Help us put an end to this by signing the letter now.

In these unprecedented times, and with the human race struggling to contain and control this very real threat, we must call for an international effort to finally end Vietnam’s brutal dog and cat meat trade. https://links.soidog.org/sign-to-stop-this-vile-practice
