Sadly, Jangko has learned the hard way that not everyone deserves the love and trust of a good dog.

One of our animal rescue officers found this 8-year-old old boy wandering near a popular Phuket grocery store with a terrible wound on his right hind leg. A person too cruel for words had tied it very tightly with rope.

Soi Dog is helping Jangko, of course. We can because people like you became members of our Emergency Response Team. Will you join them? Click here: https://bit.ly/save_senior_dogs

Your wonderful support will help ensure that we never have to turn away any desperate, suffering animal.

One of our animal rescue officers was advised to look for Jangko by kind people in the area who were doing their best to look after this ownerless dog. They were alarmed when they noticed he’d been missing for several days.

We’re just thankful he was found and we could help him before something much worse happened to him.

Jangko is one of thousands of homeless, hurting dogs who have come through Soi Dog’s hospital and shelter since 2003. We can help them only because of compassionate animal lovers like you. Otherwise, they might still be suffering – or worse.

Committing to an affordable monthly gift will do more good than you might imagine for dogs like Jangko. He is only one of the approximately 1,100 animals currently depending on us for medical and other support. One-off gifts are also most welcome and highly valued.

Jangko is now safe at the Soi Dog shelter, receiving the medical care and other support he needs. In addition to his leg wound, he was suffering from dehydration.

The rope was tied so tightly, a bone in his foot was fractured. The rope was so deeply imbedded, not all of it could be found and removed immediately. It has all been extracted now.

Sadly, it was not the first time this poor dog had experienced cruelty. Our vets reported finding an old scar under the newer injury.

Happily, Jangko’s wound is completely healed now, his pain is gone, and he can walk normally again. He has tested negative for distemper – very good news! He is being fully vaccinated. (NOTE: this costs just under 3 USD/3 EUR, and saves the animal from a number of terrible diseases.)

Jangko is also being treated for a skin issue, and is regrowing hair he’d lost. Our vets are monitoring several masses on his back as well.

We say it with every post like this one, and simply cannot say it enough: Generous animal lovers like you are the only reason we can carry on this crucial humane work.

The Thai government has no funding to offer us. The animals we

rescue are totally reliant on our help, which comes completely from your kindness.
