Look at this fluffy ginger baby, Martino, and imagine how gorgeous he’d be if he hadn’t been homeless for a long time, with no one to care about him.

This 3-year-old was found by a compassionate Soi Dog supporter and veterinarian near a Phuket restaurant, suffering with a terrible skin condition and hair loss. She alerted us, and we are helping him now.

Will you please join our Care for Cats Club so we can always be here for cats like him? https://bit.ly/saving_martino

Fortunately for Martino, this kind animal lover noticed his suffering and cared enough to seek help for him. So many suffering animals go unnoticed and unhelped.

Martino’s entire body has been affected by his skin issues, but his beautiful face and ears were in the worst condition. They were crusty and causing him severe irritation. The little boy was also mildly dehydrated.

Martino is now safe at the Soi Dog shelter, where he’s receiving the ongoing care he needs. He’s getting regular baths in a special shampoo because tests revealed he has feline sarcoptic mange, a condition relatively unusual in cats.

In addition, he has lichenification on his face and ears, which is a thickening of the skin that might indicate a chronic disease.

Martino also has a mouth issue he’s receiving special mouthwash for, and is recovering from mild dehydration. He has been sterilized.

Thanks to the generosity of our compassionate supporters, Martino has been slowly but steadily improving. In addition to his medical treatment, he is getting good food; a safe, comfortable place to sleep off the mean streets; and of course, lots of love.

A small monthly donation of whatever you’re comfortable giving will do so much good for cats like Martino (dogs, too). If you would like to help cats in trouble, click here to join our Care for Cats Club: https://bit.ly/saving_martino

At any given time, Soi Dog Foundation has 1,100 animals in our hospital and shelter who depend on our care. We in turn depend on the kindness of animal lovers like you so we will never have to turn away even one desperate animal who needs help.

If you can’t commit to a monthly donation, but still want to help animals like Martino, we would be very grateful to receive your kind one-off donation. https://bit.ly/saving_martino

With no government help available for homeless animals in Thailand, they quite literally have no one else. Thank you so much for caring about them and for understanding they deserve so much better.
