Yesterday, Amanda told me more about the barking dogs at her place:
Honestly, I think these dogs are like your Mac and a dog we had when I was growing up. They just bark for hours on end at NOTHING. Simply because they feel like barking. They trot up and down the street making sure to wake everyone in the block. They play, they look through the rubbish, they chase cats when they see one, and barking the whole time.
On a typical night, 3-4 of the dogs will walk, trot or stand up & down along our block. And they bark. They look at each other, at the sky, at nothing at all, and they bark. People throw things off balconies at them (plastic bottles, etc.), and they bark. Cars go by, they move to the side of the street, and they bark. They move into the YMCA padang and bark there, then back to the street for more barking. When they’re tired of keeping our street awake, they move off, still barking. On a good night, they just transit our street, which typically takes them a half hour, what with stops, rummaging in the trash, etc. On bad nights, they loiter for 2-4 hours. You guessed it — barking.
Maybe one of them is the ringleader who gets the others started, but I don’t know how I would figure out which one that is.
I suppose the next time they wake me up, I’ll go out and see what I can see, and see how they react.
I suggested a animal communicator (Well, why not? Unless someone has a better idea…?) to try and trace the ring leader and get to the source of the problem, ie. “Why do you guys bark at night? Could we perhaps negotiate for less barking or something?”
The keyword here is “peaceful means”, correct?
We have no Cesar Milan, but we have an animal communicator whom I’ve heard about.
So, I sourced for her contact and voila…I got it! Sent it to Amanda.
But what do you know…
From Amanda this morning:
Best news, apart from one series of a half dozen yips, the street was quiet last night. YAY! Let’s let the barking dog issue lie for the time being. Even my old gnarled Ginger Tom came around and called for breakfast today, which made me happy. I hadn’t seen him in over a week. So I think you’re right — it’s going to be a good day!
Or, maybe the dogs read your blog and they feel chagrined now….
So, have you readers been sending good vibes to the dogs in the streets of Brickfields?
If you have, keep up the good work, please.
And, thank you!
Have a good, good, good day!
