Please Keep Your Animals Indoors (animals Are The Victims)

I’d like to share this story with all animal caregivers.
It happened about a week ago. A caregiver of CNRM-ed dogs said a few of her neutered and ear-notched dogs were captured by the authorities one morning. Her friends SAW the workers capturing the dogs and putting them into their trucks.
It was only after one day that she was able to go to the pound to retrieve her dogs, but when she got there, her dogs were not there. The pound person-in-charge said the authorities did not bring in any dogs the day before.
So she quickly called the department in charge of this activity and asked if any dog-catching activity was carried out at her area the day before and the operator confirmed that there was such an activity in her said area. She then asked where her dogs could be, and of course the operator did not know.
She went to various other pounds and could not find her dogs.
Sometime later, one (but only one) of her dogs came back. The rest are still missing now.
You’d hope that if your animals are captured, you can quickly go to the pound to get them back? She wasn’t able to.
So, please, please, please, as far as you can, keep your animals indoors. We have been receiving a lot of news on the ground – there seems to be massive animal-catching activity going on these days.
Neuter, neuter, neuter, but also find them a safe place to live on.
We are a LONG (very, very long) way from becoming an Istanbul. How did Istanbul achieve what it has now – it’s from ENOUGH people wanting change. Enough people who love animals and feel they deserve to live where they are born.
That is the keyword – ENOUGH people.
We still don’t have enough people….yet.
Law-makers only listen to the majority. Sad to say, some of them are not interested in doing what’s right, they are only interested in doing what is popular. Our law regards free roaming animals as “pests” that can be destroyed.
The law has to change. The law has to be more compassionate. It will only change if ENOUGH people demand for it to be changed.
Yes, and meanwhile, until we have enough people, Operasi Gagak, Operasi Basmi Tikus and the infamous animal catching activities will go on in this country…until ENOUGH people say, “Enough is enough!! We demand for change…(or we won’t vote for you anymore)!”
Why do human egos seem so threatened by the thought that other animals think and feel? Is it because acknowledging the mind of another makes it harder to abuse them?
