Medical Subsidy For Caty (Koo Swee Pors)

I dropped in to enquire about Caty today and was informed that she is physically doing well, but having a big problem with the e-collar. Her eye enucleation needed external sutures, hence, the e-collar is of great importance. But Caty is still adjusting to and resisting the collar and has not learnt to eat with it. So, the vet is still handfeeding her.

The vet would prefer to keep her one more night to ensure that all is well before discharging her. She should be able to eat on her own, pee and poo.

The infection in the eye has resulted in sneezing now, and Caty has been given antibiotics to address this. There were also ovarian cysts and these caused the complications in the spaying, coupled with the presence of hydrometra (excessive fluids in the uterus).

We’re glad all these problems have been addressed now and Caty is on her road to recovery.

Hearing about how stressed Caty is, I did not want to add on to the stress by visiting her upstairs. The presence of a stranger looking in would definitely stress anyone, human or animal! For me, a visit should only be made if it is useful.

The bill up to tomorrow is RM454.70. I requested for an early bill as this weekend is going to be a busy one and I would prefer to settle all bills before the weekend.

For Caty’s case, we have already paid for the bill, and Koo has reimbursed us the 50%.

Koo visited this evening and took some photos:

Dear Dr Chan,

I’ve visited Caty today and the vet was very kind to take Caty out for
me to see. Caty pee-d into a litter box which was good. The vet
informed that Caty hasn’t get used to the cone and didn’t eat unless
being hand-fed. Attached is a picture of her.

Get well soon, Caty! You have a home waiting for you!
