Vincent Escapes….

Vincent had lunch and dinner comprising only for the raw diet (CJ’s and Cubgrub). I did some fact-finding by asking friends and those who are knowledgeable in the raw meat diet.
The raw diet (barf) is usually about 15-20% protein. So, we cannot say that it’s packed with protein and therefore unsuitable for CKD patients. What CKD patients need is reduced protein, but high quality protein. So, this makes the raw diet quite ideal and almost perfect for them.
Lunch (barf)
Dinner (barf)
So, I’m sticking with the raw diet for Vincent. He could also have his (current) favourite Cindy’s Tender Chicken canned food or home-cooked, of course.
Then, we went for taiji and came back at about 9.30pm. Vincent greeted me at the door and I saw him come in with me. I went to the kitchen to quickly syringe up his antacid and this must be taken half-an-hour before his tablets.
When I went out to get him, Vincent was nowhere to be found. I went upstairs and he wasn’t there. I search in the patio twice and he wasn’t there either. He was nowhere in the house.
I hit the panic button!! Where is Vincent?
I asked husband if he saw Vincent and he said no. Did he go out of the front door when husband came in? He said he didn’t see Vincent going out.
I’m 100% sure Vincent did not sneak out when I came in because he greeted me, and followed me in.
Vincent must have sneaked out. We opened the front door and looked. I was so, so worried that he would have gone out of the gate by now and goodness know what might have happened.
But there he was, still in the garden.
I approached slowly and managed to scoop him up. Quickly brought him back.
PHEW!!
This absolutely cannot happen again. It just cannot. We cannot risk Vincent sneaking out anymore.
Supper (canned food)
I guess Vincent sneaked out because he is feeling much better now. Ginger has also been sneaking out a lot, but he is no longer under medication now, so it isn’t exactly so worrying. Still, Zurik is always on the prowl, and we cannot risk Zurik beating Ginger up again.
I think by now, Zurik has classified Ginger under his list of “easy prey”.
Zurik does not beat up Heidi, though.
