THIS DOG HAS NEVER HAD A HOUSE!

This little dog in Bosnia lives with a very poor man. The dog has never had a dog house. He’s been outdoors his whole life. Can you imagine that? Winter is coming and the weather is already turning cold at night.

“Can we help this man?” volunteer Debbie Ryan asked. “His name is Neno and he has a dog that stays on a chain. The dog has no shelter or house. Can we buy a longer chain so he can move around more, a little second-hand doghouse, some hay, and also some food for the mother cat he has with kittens?”

Such small things to ask for really. Simply a shelter to stay warm and dry and food for the family of cats. We’ve just sent funds for the dog and the cats. And the cats will be spayed/neutered as well (mother cat soon – kittens when they are old enough)

Debbie reminds us that the dog’s guardian is very, very poor. And, keeping dogs ‘outdoors-only’ is still considered standard in many parts of the world. There are so many dogs like this in need, and we are all-too-grateful for every chance we get to help. Soon this one will have his own house with a door to keep out the wind and snow and plenty of straw insulation. And he’ll have much more room to roam. While this is certainly different from the way that most of us care for our dogs, we do the best we can to help animals according to the culture and traditions of the region they live in. This certainly is a start at a better life and we will see what else can be done.
