This is my story:

I can�t remember what happened just before I came to live at Soi Dog�s shelter in Phuket, Thailand but the vets believe I was poisoned. THANK YOU: your donations gave the vets all the resources they needed to keep me alive.

My road to recovery was long and hard. For days the vets waited for the worst, not sure if I�d make it. But my will to survive was strong. It took me a long time to even stand up. But slowly, one step at a time, I started to get better. While I was recovering in the hospital, the vets found out that I am partially blind too.

I have recovered from the poison, but sadly I will never fully recover my vision. But that doesn�t mean I can�t live a fulfilling life with a wonderful human like you!

I live with lots of other doggies. It�s really overcrowded here and I like to keep to myself. I prefer my own quiet corner away from the more confident and playful dogs.

I have so much love to give to a special human, despite all the things that have happened to me. I�m not the first to greet people when they visit – I prefer to take my time and get to know them when I�m ready. Once they get to know me, they see just how big my heart is! I yearn to make friends. I am just a little shy.

I am waiting for a special human to give me encouragement and show me tonnes of love. I love hugs, cuddles and my soft fluffy coat will keep you warm on cold nights.

There�s lots of things going on at the shelter. There are so many people and so many sounds that I sometimes find it a bit overwhelming to join the other dogs on a walk, especially with people I�ve only met. But once I know and trust someone, I am keen to go exploring. I just like to take things slowly and at my own pace.
