COME TO SOI DOG, EVERYBODY!

Most people travel to Phuket for the beaches. But not Julia. Each time shes travelled here with one purpose: to volunteer at the Soi Dog shelter. Julia just finished her 3rd volunteer stint, where she walked 20 dogs a day, Monday through Friday, for 4 weeks. That makes 400 walks and some very happy dogs.

Julia, who is from Adelaide, Australia, says that she cant keep the grin off her face when walking the dogs its meditative, an exercise in mindfulness because the dogs are living fully in the now.

Not sold yet? Julia says Theres amazing rapport amongst the volunteers. Youll be so well looked after by the volunteer coordinators all you need to do is walk and give love to the dogs. And she guarantees youll be sad to leave and already planning the next trip. In short: Come to Soi Dog, everybody!

Soi Dog Foundation

Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals.
