Rosie At Dawn (Day 26)

These past three weeks of looking after Rosie have been very challenging. Never in my life have I felt so tired until I almost drifted off to sleep in the midst of doing taiji. That was certainly a first.
Of course it also does not help when we have to deal with dishonest applicants as well as those who simply do not understand our requirements even though you go back and forth in emails so many times. Sometimes, I really do not know how else to get the message through when sample photos are already sent with detailed description – could you just please follow the sample and do it? And another type are those who do not check their emails and whatsapp messages – how do you contact them? Here we are trying so hard to help them so that they can meet the deadline but they don’t even bother to be contactable. In actual fact, we can just reject their incomplete applications and be done with it. And of course there are still those who post one day before the deadline and think our postal services are so efficient that it will arrive on time. Why even bother to post and waste the postage money, really. You are given two weeks to do it, for goodness’ sake, but you are “too busy” (tell me, who isn’t busy?). I personally feel very sad when we have to reject an application due to lateness.
Yesterday, we paid out claims to 10 rescuers for a total of 29 cats and 4 dogs; none of these applications were late (6 of the applicants cannot read or write much, yet their applications were absolutely compliant). So, for those who constantly say they are too busy or that our deadline is too short, or that our requirements are too difficult to meet, or that they simply cannot understand how a photo collage is made, please…if you want to apply for something, just follow the procedures and learn. If you are incapable of learning, then please get someone to help you.
So yes, it’s been so, so tiring.
Yesterday, Rosie did not look well at all. It was very worrisome. She is still very yellow and her urine is incredibly yellow too. A few days ago, I noticed her sneezing, but just once or twice in a day. She is already on immune boosters (added Transfer Factors) so I hope it doesn’t become a full-blown flu. That would really complicate matters. And she is also on antibiotics (Doxy and Baytril).
So, this morning, I got up at 3am and quickly came downstairs to check on Rosie. Last night, she wanted to watch television, so she slept on the armchair downstairs. The whole of yesterday, Rosie looked very lethargic and was sleeping on her side.
I was a little relieved when I found her sitting up.
Good morning, Rosie!
My friend who practises OPM taught me to massage along her spinal chord to help clear blockages in the body. Rosie likes the massage.
Rosie hasn’t been eating her kibble on her own for quite a few days now. I would like to believe that it’s because I am able to feed her more during her five meals so perhaps she is not hungry in between. She has always been a kibble queen.
I bought Royal Canin Sensible yesterday. Went to the petstore and asked for their post palatable kibble. But Rosie didn’t want it yesterday.
This morning, I offered Go! Trout which she loved earlier on. Rosie smelled it, felt like eating, but didn’t eat.
Then, I offered RC’s Sensible…and she ate! Just a little bit, but eating on her own, even if it’s only a little bit is good.
All the vets say, Give her anything she wants to eat. It is always better if she eats on her own than being force-fed. That is why I’m offering various type of foods for Rosie.
She wasn’t interested in any wetfood, but I’ll be using it to feed her her meds and supplements later. Upon consultation with the vet, we are increasing Ursofalk to 1/2 cap once a day instead of 1/4 cap. Ursofalk is THE medicine that can help with the blockages of the bile ducts in her liver.
When Rosie was eating the RC Sensible, Cow, Bunny, Tiger, Indy and Tabs pressed their noses to the grille! Yes, it smelled really good.
