Rosies News (Day 9)

Rosie was whining all over the house again, so we decided to let her go to Bunny’s Garden with the hope that she might be happier being on the grass.

She wasn’t happy, she just stared out from the Stargate.

She continued whining and within minutes, wanted to go back to the house. So I carried her back. Oh, I locked Cow, Bunny and Indy in the room while Rosie was in Bunny’s Garden.

Tiger is so happy in the house and you don’t have to close the doors and windows. He won’t go out.

Heidi is equally happy inside the house.

But Rosie wants to roam, so confining her inside the house is unacceptable to her.

Her appetite isn’t back. When offered food in the afternoon, she just licked a little and that’s it. I had to force-feed her again and this made her angry. It’s not easy…

I know it’s counter-productive when she gets angry, but then again, Rosie has to eat quality protein, that’s the only way her liver can repair itself. And she has to eat enough too. Licking a little bit just doesn’t cut it. So force-feeding it is.

Connie came over to help coax Rosie, but this time, Rosie refused to listen.

Oh, one good news is that Rosie finally used the litter box to defecate. What a relief!

She was not caged the whole day (being Sunday and we were home all day). She soon found a safe shelter in a small box, so she stayed there most of the time. The rule is that when she is in her safe house, we cannot touch her. But I had to drag her out to feed her and that made her very, very angry.

I read some cat forums and found out that Brand’s chicken essence can help so we bought a box. Cow, Bunny, Tiger, Indy and Heidi loved it. But Rosie didn’t. So, had to force-feed by syringe again. Sigh…

By the way, Heidi became super hyperactive after consuming the chicken essence and did a few acrobatic jigs.

I also bought fish and steamed for Rosie but she didn’t like it anymore today.

By late afternoon, Rosie came into the kitchen and asked for something. I thought she wanted food, so since she loves kibble, I offered a bowl – no. Then, I opened a can of tuna – no. I offered home-cooked food – no.  I offered Recovery – no.  She just kept whining, wanting something from the kitchen.

So it was a day of force-feeding again. Luckily no car rides today. Rosie hates car rides.

Tomorrow, we will be going to the vet’s because the vet said the subcut is important.

Oh dear…another car ride.

Since the treatment of liver disease takes weeks, we are going to have mosquito netting installed in our windows so that we can at least keep some windows open when Rosie is confined in the house.
