Those of you who have followed our page for some time will remember a dog called Hero please scroll through this slideshow to see the latest pictures of him in his forever home.

Heros story is just one example of what the donations of our Emergency Response Team have achieved and continue to achieve every day. Will you please go to https://ert.soidog.org/ to join this life-saving group?

We first heard about Hero when a local lady contacted us. She had found Hero lying in a corner behind a building. He had been brutally stabbed in several places. Bleeding profusely, he had crawled into the corner to die.

When Hero arrived at our shelter, his legs were so badly swollen that the vets struggled to take a blood sample. His knife wounds were infested with maggots and he had septicaemia. Despite his injuries, he was starving and wolfed down a whole can of dog food in seconds. We realised this brave little boy was going to fight for his life.

In addition to his knife injuries and the resulting septicaemia, Hero was diagnosed with blood parasites and mange, but needed to finish his septicaemia treatment before being given any other medication.

As the weeks passed, Heros transformation was gradual but steady. His knife wounds were treated daily and slowly started to heal. His fur began to grow back and he received regular body scrubs for an hour and a half at a time, to remove dead skin and matted fur.

Hero continued to eat well and started to put on weight. His regained strength meant he could be started on medication for his blood parasites and mange. The light came back in his eyes.

Hero got a second chance at life and his rescue alone makes him one of the lucky ones. However, his story doesnt end there. This brave little boy captured the heart of a woman named Sissy, who lives in the US. Sissy got in touch and told us she wanted to provide Hero with his forever home.

A few weeks later, Hero left Soi Dog and flew to his new home. His life in the US is a world away from that dark corner he crawled into to die. People like YOU made this happen.

Every day, Soi Dog rescues and treats dogs and cats that are sick, injured or have been abused or abandoned. Sadly, Heros case is not an isolated one. Without regular donations from people like you, we simply couldnt carry on.

Please join the Emergency Response Team now by going to https://ert.soidog.org/ Because in a world of heart-breaking suffering, dogs like Hero have just one hope YOU.
