Service Dog Protects Autistic Boy
Service dogs are increasingly being recognized for their importance in helping families and children with autism. Take the dog in this video. While the family is playing outside of their home, the dog is working and keeping an eye on the little boy with autism.
As soon as it looks like the boy is running towards the street, the Briard takes action to protect him. (Briards are an ancient breed of large herding dog, so they have a natural instinct to look after their flock…or in this case, this little boy.)
Service dogs are indispensable to all manner of people, not just those with autism but also those with post-traumatic stress disorder, blindness and epilepsy. Not to mention all those who simply adore their beloved pets!
