Today, we attended the first newly setup committee meeting organised by DVS in Bukit Tengah, Penang. As of current, all house dogs are required to be vaccinated.
Upcoming phase : All “Managed Dogs”, taken care of by local communities/feeders at specific locations throughout Penang will be vaccinated.
As for the rest of the strays dogs, DVS will have to wait for a detailed “vaccination and population control” proposal from WVS before deciding on the next move.
Rabies vaccination for dog is now available at DVS for RM5 each and at any of the 17 private vet clinics in Penang for RM10 each. Distribution of the vaccines to local vet clinics will take effect today.
