Merdeka! Cats Day Out

The inside cats get to come out daily (everyone, except Pole and Cleo, both of whom are not interested and are more than happy staying inside).

Normally, they take turns coming out so that the monitoring can be more controlled.

But today, being Merdeka Day, all five got to come out at once…

That’s Cow, Bunny and Indy.

And Tiger.

“Add me, add me!!” says Tabs

Happiness is rubbing on a shoe.

Bunny ALWAYS sneaks out of the gate.

He’ll approach the gate gingerly, then the moment you want to catch him, he rolls over.

A very, very rare sight.

Run, Daffofil and Rosie. Run!!

Indy’s modus operandi is keeping very low-profiled and seemingly “obedient”.

“I’m not going anywhere, see?”

But the other day, he found a small window or opportunity and before we knew it, he was already inside the neighbour’s compound, lounging casually, looking at a butterfly. He totally ignored our frantic cries from outside the neighbour’s gate.

Bunny’s escapades are also to the roadside and even across the road. Cats are very, very sneaky. We humans are just not smart enough.

Vincent is not taking any chances. He’s going off to safety before anything untoward incidents happen.

Ginger and Rosie are under the car. That’s not exactly very smart.

The other day, Bunny scared everyone off from the porch with his war cries, but Ginger thought under the car was safe enough. He was oh-so-wrong. Bunny sneaked up from behind (yes, under the car), and dragged Ginger out for a fight. Tufts of fur flew and we had to hose Bunny down. Luckily Ginger has very thick hair and there was no injury of any kind.

So, this is how we can get out from the house to the porch…

Indy stalks Vincent.

Tiger is the best.

Ginger finally decides the roof is safer.

He’s doing it again.

Trying to fool us into thinking he’s just going to laze around when actually, he’s scheming to get out.

Tabs also has a tendency to out of the gate, so she cannot be left alone.

Finally, everyone is unceremoniously returned to the room, and only Tiger remains.

The meek shall inherit the earth.
