Found, then Fostered and Adopted!

MOCHA, the Cross-Breed Cutie

Mocha, a brown/tan cross-breed puppy, was brought to our shelter a year ago, on 12 April 2014, shortly after being found (possibly abandoned) at Defu Lane, with her 5 siblings, all in a box filled with dirty, murky water. Easily also the runt of the litter, and merely less than three weeks old then, Mocha was not yet ready for adoption.

A kind fosterer, in the form of Mr Rashwinder Singh, stepped forward, offering to nurse Mocha to good health so that she will be eventually adoption-ready and can have a loving, forever home to call her own.

Rashwinder wasted no time getting Mocha medically treated and properly vaccinated, and bottle-feeding her regularly, devoting his time to her rigorous care. Mocha benefitted immensely from all the care, patience and love that Rashwinder and his wife have showered upon her, and as fate would have it, has touched her human fosterers lives so much that they have decided to adopt her (in late September, about 5 months later). Rashwinder has shared with us that it has been a blessing to have met Mocha who has brought love into their lives.

We thank Rashwinder and family for having been commendable at nursing Mocha to good health and development, and later opening their home to her permanently. (On an even more positive note, Mochas siblings also became fostered and later adopted into different, forever homes, over the same period of time.)

Fostering an animal, as Rashwinder and family have done, can be a wonderful bonding experience for you and your family. The rewards are intangible, as you would be actually saving a life and making a difference.

By helping to foster animals until space becomes available in our shelter and the animals become older and better able to cope with kennel life, you are helping us save more lives. Do refer to this page to find out more: http://www.spca.org.sg/helpus_fosterparent.asp

If you’re at least 18 years, and are ready to be a foster parent, come join us on our Foster Care programme! You would be nurturing a life in its most formative years of development.
