LOOK WHAT HAPPENS TO “WILD” CATS AT OUR SANCTUARY!

Simba came into our rescue program a few weeks ago. He was brought in as one of a few “feral” cats who were forced to relocate when their caretaker was prohibited from accessing their feeding station. Simba had been living outdoors for years, and when he arrived, he had severe stomatitis – a painful, inflammatory condition that causes teeth and their roots to disintegrate in the mouth. Simba was clearly hurting, a lot, and though his surgery was very expensive we were determined to heal him.

You won’t believe how his whole world has opened up now. No, it turns out that Simba is no more feral than any other house cat. Though he survived the record-breaking and absolutely brutal winter we’ve had here in New England, the truth is that Simba would have loved for any one of the neighbors on that street to open the door and let him get warm. He’s now in the arms of Karen, the absolutely incredible cat-whisperer who runs a very special feral cat barn sanctuary sponsored by Harmony Fund. SImba seems to have made his way into the office area, very curious about all that goes on, and Karen is over-the-moon to hold him in her arms and let him know that he’s loved and won’t ever be homeless again.
