NATIVE WILDLIFE RESCUE ROUNDUP: 27TH FEBRUARY 2015
Here are three very different recent rescues by the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Team!

We had a very interesting start to the Eve of Chinese New Year: we were alerted by a local researcher from NUS, Joys Tan, to a baby macaque whose hand had become entangled in construction netting in Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Greeted by her protective family who were letting out distressed calls, we worked together with NParks to set the baby free. As soon as she was untangled, she left together with her family, unhurt and none the worse for her little mishap! Take care little one, and stay away from that netting!
Lu, a pink-necked green pigeon, had crashed into a building, and got stranded inside. Dazed and disorientated, he had endured a hefty 3-storey drop, and had thrown up some of the fruits he had eaten. Poor Lu was in total distress and shock, but thanks to the caller for getting help, he recovered well with overnight incubation, and was released in the morning!
Malar, a reticulated python had a rather flowery morning, after she took hiding among the flower baskets at Tekka. Malar caused a lot of commotion on a busy morning, but all was settled when she was safely rescued for relocation!
