I Am Spuds� Look At How I�ve Changed�

I arrived in horrific condition at the Soi Dog shelter. Maybe some of you remember me�

I was born on the streets of Thailand; I have lived there my whole life. There are many of us like this, descended from generations of street dogs, never having known what it is to have an owner or a place to call home.

Although I am only 3 years of age, I looked like a sad, old dog when I arrived at the shelter. I felt it too. All my fur had fallen out and my body was covered in ugly, weeping sores. They said it was caused by a severe case of demodectic mange. Many would have turned away from me in horror, but Soi Dog didn�t.

They promised me that – because of people like YOU – they could help me. I was started on medicine and, although I still have a long way to go, I already feel different. They tell me each day that I am beautiful; I am starting to believe them.

There are many other dogs like me. You might not always read about them or see their pictures, but these animals are desperate. There is nobody to care for them; they are completely dependent on your compassion.
