Pet owners, please microchip your pet and register that microchip (if you havent)!

A microchip is a tiny device about the size of a rice grain and it is usually implanted between the shoulder blades of your pet. It carries a unique identification number so that your animal can be traced back to you if it has lost its way.

However, you must ensure that the microchip is registered otherwise it would be rendered useless. So why should you microchip your pet? Animals disappear for many reasons – they wander off, they may be spooked or injured, run away, or even get stolen. As the pets owner, you have the responsibility of ensuring that your pet is safe and that also includes ensuring that your animal is sufficiently identifiable on all accounts.

You may register your pet with either of the following:

(1) Pet-Call – to find out more about, or to register with, Pet-Call, do refer to http://www.petcall.org/main.asp

(2) the AVA please call 1800-4671600 to find out more

(3) the SPCA please e-mail us at clinic@spca.org.sg

As a responsible pet owner, you should send your pet for microchipping. Microchipping, and registration of the microchip, ensures that your pet can be traced and returned to you if it ever gets lost.

*Please share this on your wall. The more awareness created among your fellow pet-parent friends, the better our pets will be responsibly cared for.*
