LADY JAYE DESPERATELY NEEDS YOUR HELP TO IMPROVE HER LIFE
Lady Jaye came to the Soi Dog shelter over a year ago after she was hit by a car. She suffered horrific injuries including rib and hip fractures, breathing difficulties, and spinal cord damage. Initially, Lady Jaye was unable to walk and was suffering from incontinence.
Lady Jaye has regained some ability to walk, however she still suffers some difficulties with her mobility. Unfortunately, Lady Jaye is still unable to control her bladder or her bowel and is highly unlikely to recover from this. For this reason, Lady Jaye is not likely to ever be adopted to a home and to have a family she can call her own.
Despite her medical problems, Lady Jaye is a loving and happy cat. She loves cuddles and human company and enjoys playing with her toys. She is only four years old so she has a lot of life left to live. Unfortunately the shelter here in Phuket does not have the facilities to provide a suitable place for Lady Jaye to live out the rest of her life in an environment that is both stimulating and happy for her.
Knowing finding a home for Lady Jaye was going to be almost impossible, shelter manager Reggie contacted Esther from an organisation called Network for Animal Protection (NetAP). NetAP is based in Switzerland and Germany and has close ties with Soi Dog Foundation. NetAP run an animal sanctuary in Germany (NetAP Sanctuary), which is mainly for farm animals however they do have some special needs cats in their care.
Poor Esther was torn when she heard Lady Jayes sad story. The NetAP shelter is always at capacity and they do not import animals from other countries as there are always animals needing homes in Switzerland and Germany. Coincidentally, Esthers good friend, long-time Soi Dog volunteer Claudia, was on her way to visit the shelter so Esther asked her to meet Lady Jaye and to speak to the Soi Dog vets and Reggie about Lady Jayes medical status.
Claudia met Lady Jaye when she arrived in Phuket and was so upset to meet such a disadvantaged cat that she begged Esther to help. Esther understood the need, but with the NetAP shelter being full, it was a going to be a difficult mission to find a place for Lady Jaye. As it turned out, luck was on Lady Jayes side for a change with a space becoming available at the NetAP sanctuary for one more special needs cat. Although it is against NetAPs policy, everyone was so moved by Lady Jayes story that a special, one-time exception is being made to help her.
Lady Jaye will soon be able to enjoy a facility just for disabled cats with a garden all of their own. Lady Jaye will be watched over by a vet who lives at the sanctuary and will no doubt get lots of love and attention from the volunteers of this wonderful organisation. Soi Dog cannot thank NetAP, Esther and Claudia enough for taking Lady Jaye into their hearts and for offering her a wonderful place to live. Please help us show our appreciation to NetAP for helping Lady Jaye by liking their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NetAP.ch
Lady Jaye almost has her happy ending but WE NEED YOUR HELP! While a wonderful home has been found for her, we need to raise money for her travel costs. Lady Jaye has a long flight ahead of her and we cannot send her to Germany until we have raised enough money for her vaccinations and blood tests, her travel crate and her airfare.
Without your help, Lady Jaye will not be able to go to her new home and receive the special care she needs. Please help make Lady Jayes dream come true and donate today so she can lead the life she deserves.
