Safari Sam Fighting To Get Better Every Day

Hey there, Im Safari Sam. If you havent yet met me or you missed my original story, you can read all about it here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.676315469076858.1073742713.108625789179165&type=3

I came to the shelter from a mobile clinic where the vets spotted a problem with my eye. Dr Eed examined me and she said I had something called TVT. This is a type of cancer that is very common with us street dogs, especially in hot climates like ours. The cancer had caused a nasty tumour on my eye and one on my penis. I also had some skin problems, some of my teeth were missing, and I had something called anaemia. I was suffering a lot.

The nice vets here started me on some medicine called chemotherapy for the tumours. It is a very strong medicine and it meant that I did not always want to eat, but my tumours started to get better. My eye was not hurting me so much anymore but the vets told me I would never be able to see out of it. They put a cone on my head, which was very embarrassing, but they explained that it was to help my eye heal.

My eye is so much better now and they are taking very good care of me here at Soi Dog. The vets clean my eye every day and they have learnt that I am addicted to cuddles! I love to be around people and I am so happy I was brought here.

I know that I would never have come here if it werent for a group called the Emergency Response Team. The vets say this is a very lovely group of people, who live all over the world, and help save the lives of dogs like me. Please help me thank them by visiting https://www.soidog.org/en/ert/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=FBO_safarisam2&utm_campaign=ert and signing up to help them today.
