Anyone who has seen a loved one go through the horrors of Alzheimers disease, knows just how brutal the condition can be. The loss of mental faculties, loss of speech function to a point where it becomes an inability to speak at all. It can be devastating to all involved.
Lisa Abeytas father knows this suffering first hand. There is, however, one thing that seems to be helping. The family dog.
Lisa happened to catch this rare moment between her father and their dog, where briefly, his speech came back.
He was able to tell the dog, Why dont I take care? Ill take you, and you take me.
