We are pleased with the court’s decision on this case, to mete out the maximum fine of S$10,000 for animal cruelty.
Responsible pet owners should be proactive in providing adequate food and shelter as well as timely veterinary care for all of their pets. Such a responsibility should neither be taken lightly, nor passed conveniently to someone else, as we were quoted in The New Paper (25 April 2014) and in The Straits Times (25 April 2014).
We hope that with this verdict passed, all pet owners will be more mindful of their responsibilities as their pets’ primary caregiver.
