Poor Old Dexter Commences Treatment For His Many Health Problems

Hi, my name is Dexter. If you missed my first post, you can check out my original story at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.678421085532963.1073742727.108625789179165&type=1

I was brought to Soi Dog by animal rescue officer Khun Jaroon, when he noticed me at a local temple bleeding from my mouth. I was looked after by the vets straight away and they noticed my mouth was in a really bad way. I don’t have many teeth left and I also have ulcers in my mouth. The teeth I do have left also have really bad build up on them. I also have a lot of other health problems – kidney problems, anaemia, blood parasites and I have a sore leg.

The vets have been taking really good care of me. I am now on medicine for several of my problems and the vets say once I am feeling better they will work on my remaining teeth. For now, I am eating soft food and resting up to help my recovery. The vets have warned me that I am not certain to recover from all my illnesses as I am quite old, but I will do everything they tell me to do to try and get better.

I am so grateful that I am now being cared for at Soi Dog Foundation. Everybody is very kind to me. I must say thank you though to the people I haven’t met, those from the Emergency Response Team. Without their support, Soi Dog would not be able to care for dogs like me and I don’t know what would have become of me. If you would like to join this team to help the many dogs and cats that come you Soi Dog needing treatment, you can join today by visiting https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html
