Poor Popper Saved In The Nick Of Time
Popper was rushed to the Soi Dog Clinic after animal rescue officer Khun Sanae rescued him from Chalong in the south of Phuket. Popper has a horrific head wound, which may have been caused by a dog fight or a machete attack. Khun Sanae rushed Popper to the clinic where he was given emergency treatment by visiting vet Dr Greg.
Popper was in terrible pain when he arrived. He was very scared and had no idea where he was or what would become of him. Dr Greg and the vet nurses worked their magic and soon he started to relax while he received life saving treatment. Dr Greg had no doubt Popper would not have survived for much longer without treatment as he would have succumbed to serious infection. Thank goodness Sanae found Popper in time! In Thailands climate his wound would quickly have become infected and the little fellow would have slowly died from blood poisoning.
Poppers luck changed for the better because of Soi Dogs Emergency Responders. Members of the Emergency Response Team ( https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html) provide the important ongoing funding that allows rescue officers like Sanae to continue carrying out this important work.
Popper is not yet out of the woods but we are hoping for a full recovery. The outcome is always in the balance in cases like Poppers. Please keep him in your thoughts and we will post updates as his condition (hopefully) improves.
