HAPPY SUNDAY FROM CARDBOARD BOX PUPPIES IN SERBIA

Here we are at Sasha Pecic’s shelter in Serbia where some 400+ dogs take refuge from the streets in a large, free-roaming oasis. This week, Sasha was out getting supplies for the shelter when he came upon a cardboard box with puppies inside.

“They were found on the street, in the box!,” shelter volunteer Ana Mitrovic explains. “When we find babies like this, we always check if their mom is somewhere there, wait for her, sometime for the whole day.”

And though the cruelty of separating a mother dog and her newborn pups is one that is incredibly hard to reconcile, we try to focus on what we can do. The pups will now have the chance to grow up strong and to live with love as every dog should, thanks to Sasha.
