Medical Subsidy For Cat With Obstructed Labour (Mutharam Vasthilingams)

Mrs Mutharam contacted us on 10th November saying this cat’s water-bag had broken but could not deliver. We advised her to immediately take the cat to the vet so that the necessary procedure could be done to save the cat and the kittens, to get a bill and we would reimburse her. Obstructed labour is very serious and requires immediately medical help. The cat was brought to the vet but Mrs Mutharam did not get the procedure done. Instead, she brought the cat to another vet on the next day.The cat is recovering now.

The two bills total RM347 and we have subsidised RM173.50 for them. This subsidy comes from the AnimalCare Donors (RM73.50) and Berjaya Cares (RM100).

Dear Dr. Chan

this is karepi, the stray cat. she was pregnant. her water bag broke on saturday night (9/11) but the babies were not born. om the next day i took her to the vet hospital because the normal vet i go was closed. the vet there said tht the babies might hav died and a surgery should be done, a deposit of rm300 was asked to pay. since i dont hav the amount i just took antibiotics for rm47 and came back. the next day took her to the vet i usually go for neuter.. the vet charged me rm300 for the surgery. the babies were dead. i just payed him rm100. i still owe him balance rm200. the karepi is okay now. she is eating well n resting. i know tht animalcare only pay 50% of the charges.. im really not in the situation to come up with rm173.50. i hope animalcare can help me pay more.. thank you..

We had already advised Mrs Mutharam that if she requires more subsidy for all her cases, she could seek help from organisations that provide bigger subsidies. We are bound by our policies and have to be fair to all applicants.
