Medical Subsidy For Somet, Rescued Cat (Marina Mustapha�s)

Dear Dr Chan,
There is another female stray or abandoned cat that we have been feeding at the parking space.We name her Somet.

Bumblebee, Cotton & Somet (all 3 of them) appeared same time near our block parking space.Believed they were abandoned pets. All 3 are friendly.

I tried to help her today because she just stand in the middle of the road soaking wet. I fed her at first so that she will be ok.I tried to cuddle her to my place but she jumped off from my hands. I do not have carrier earlier.

If necessary I would like to capture her so that I can get her vaccinated & spay. Number of strays near our parking space increases since July 2013. So far I have 7 stray cats our parking space alone including Somet & Cotton. I am sure many more different blocks.

Suspected she is less than a year. Can I claim for her medical treatment ( if necessary) & spay later ? She has medium long hair like Bumblebee. Maybe same genes.
With her medium long hair , many will be interested to adopt like Bumblebee .

Dear Dr Chan,
Good day to you.
Finally ,I rescued Somet today for her vet check up to determine her health.

If she is still young (based on vet visit later of this week), I will complete her 1st & 2nd vaccination first. Only then I will spay her. Depending on the situation.

I put her in a cage temporary since she is in same room as Cotton.I have no other space.Initially , I rescued her 2 weeks ago but Cotton was not happy at the time & Somet was so scared so we released her back to the parking space.

I felt that I need to rescue her in today because I saw her sleeping on residents’ car quiet often.Concern she will be hurt due to this reason.

Today she is more cooperative. I guess she knows I mean no harm after all.Cotton also does not hiss so far.

We will hv to see if they can get along together. I will submit the vet receipts once I bring her to vet.Hope vet can give her 1st vaccination same day visit.

Dear Dr Chan,
Took Somet to vet this evening. She actually has quite a bad gingivitis & possible gums problem since her lymph nodes are swollen.

I thought she is still young but vet suspected she is around 4-5years. There is possibility she is pregnant too or maybe simply just fat (her tummy bigger than normal cat) .We just have to wait & see.I have to give antibiotic for 7 days.

Vet asked me to monitor her If she is salivating badly.if yes I have to take her to the vet again.

Will submit original receipt soon.
