Avant-Garde Art Studio Raises $3000 for the Dogs and Cats of Thailand..
Nalyne Lunati (founder and executive director), students and their families of Avant-Garde Art Studio raised $1,500 for Soi Dog which will be matched 100% by a corporate matching program in the U.S.A.. Soi Dog is a 501 (c) 3 organization that is recognized in the U.S.A. and other countries. Therefore, $3,000 will be donated to Soi Dog! This event was made possible through the sales of art work, jewellery and outright monetary donations of the Avant-Garde Art Studio community. Special thanks to Ryan, Abbie, Jaclyn, and Trevor who helped to get the studio ready for the silent auction and fundraiser.
Nalynes inspiration to be an advocate for animals are her shelter pooches Ginger (7 years old, left) and Sasha (8 years old, right). Ginger was dumped in the desert of Arizona at around 6 weeks old to die. She was covered with fleas and ticks and has a terrible stomach infection. Sasha was found as a stray in Modesto at around 8 weeks old. She was found with an ear full of foxtails, even 1 was lodged very deep. She also had hip dysplasia on both hips, which Nalyne took her to an orthopaedic surgeon to take care of, one hip at a time.
