Dear Dr Chan,
I got your URL from (name of vet) where I usually send the strays I rescue for spaying before I find them homes. He said you all help by giving some form of subsidy for those who help strays and ask me to send you the bill as proof of helping the strays. So enclosed is a copy of the bill.
Thank you .
Sincerely
Md Ng
We replied asking for photos and more details about where the dog was rescued.

Dear Dr Chan
Sorry for the late reply. Fact is I’m not very good with the computer and have to depend on others to take the photo and download it. I hope the photo is the one that is required. This is after the operation photo but I don’t have one before the operation.
Maple, the name of the dog, first attracted me when the land near my housing estate was cleared for the new LRT line. She came out from the trees to the clearing every now and then. Then she didn’t appear for quite some time. One morning as I was passing near the area she started to bark at me. This happened for quite some time. Then one morning I saw three puppies following her. She was in fact protecting her babies and warning me to keep away. I started to bring food for her and the puppies. One day the puppies were there but she didn’t turn up. The next time I saw her she had an open wound on her back. She didn’t turn up after that. I went among the trees to look for her and found that the wound was very bad. I couldn’t get her to follow me so I told (name of vet) (where I normally send the strays for spaying before finding them a home)and got some medication to spray on her. It took quite some time for the wound to heal and by then she was confident enough to come near me. Then I sent her to the vet for spaying. Then the vet told me that her jaw was fractured before and the wound was most probably caused by scalding. Now she has a bald patch on her back and a protruding tooth due to the nature of her jaw.She is now staying with me. A friend has put them up in petfinder for adoption. One of the puppies has been adopted.I don’t think anyone will want to adopt her so I’ll keep her for she has already suffered so much.
I just got the form and will fill it and send it as soon as possible.
Thank you
Md Ng

Dear Dr Chan,
Thank you very much for the money. Will check with the bank when I next go out.
Maple will be staying with me until someone adopt her and give her plenty of love and care. In fact we get along very well and enjoy many hours of walking round the garden. I intend to keep her if my neighbour doesn’t complain to the management. So far she is very good and well behaved. As for her puppies, one has been adopted and one more is still waiting to be adopted. My friend has helped put him up for adoption with Petfinder but there are no takers so far.
Once again thank you very much.
Sincerely
Md Ng
