Roo And Nadia (an Update From Hamida Alonto)

Oh wow! What a great way to start the weekend!

Ref:http://myanimalcare.org/2013/07/24/and-a-little-kitty-life-is-saved-a-sharing-by-a-reader/

Roo is the little injured kitten picked up by Hamida from the streets and brought to a shelter (which understandably, could not take such a young kitten). We advised Hamida to take back the kitten, bring her for treatment, if need be and we will help with funds. At the same time, to advertise for adopters on PetFinder.my.

Nadia responded and now, Roo has a loving home.

Roo would need to have one leg amputated later, but she will lead an active life under the loving care of Nadia.

Hugs to Hamida, to Nadia and to Roo!!

We should thank you. I’m sure I am not the only one who is inspired by your efforts Just to give you an update on the little kitty:

yesterday I received an sms from Nadia (the lady who adopted her), saying that she took Roo (the name I gave the kitty) to the vet. This is what she said:
“(The vet) said the longer leg must be amputated. The wound, though healing nicely has exposed a bit of bone. She’ll continue to get blisters at the same spot for the rest of her life which will cause recurrent infection and festering. But he says she will live an active lifestyle and we are not to worry”
I offered her assistance and if she has at any point have a change of heart, i told her i’ll take Roo back, no problem. I know its not going to be as easy as caring for a normal cat.
She replied with an emphatic: “Oh no no! of course not! We all love her so much already. she doesnt let that lame leg of hers stop her form jumping and running like other kitties. a real trooper she is! she really is so very special”
I could hardly believe the change in Roo’s condition. From an abandoned/dumped kitten so emaciated and weak, heavily-infested with fleas so close to death either by hunger, disease or getting run over then due to be put to sleep, to one that is showered with love and affection in a loving home. I am so happy, and as we Muslims say: Alhamdulillah (All thanks be to God).
Thank you again for encouraging me to do the right thing!
*Hugs*
Hamida
