Soi Dog volunteers said a fond farewell to Phanom yesterday as he boarded his flight at Phuket International Airport en route to his new home in America.

Dogs like Phanom underscore the importance of bringing this barbaric, inhumane and illegal trade to an end! Dogs are crammed 12 to a cage and their exposed limbs often snapped off when smugglers slam cages together on the back of the trucks. Phanom lost his leg when it was crushed between 2 such cages.

Phanom would have had virtually no chance of being adopted within Thailand and stood no chance of surviving for long in government shelters.

Phanom would certainly be dead by now had he not received immediate care from the veterinarians at Nakhon Phanom. Without your support other dogs will not be so lucky.
