Khemmerat Emergency Sterilization Project 18-May-2013...

This weekend Dr. Op from from Soi Dog Bangkok, other veterinarians and staff began sterilizing 240 dogs rescued from the meat trade at the Khemmerat shelter in NE Thailand. It is critical that all dogs rescued from the trade who are well enough to be sterilized are as soon as possible. In 2012 a disaster was barely averted at Khemmerat with unsterilized dogs mixing freely and female dogs coming into heat. Puppies born in this environment have no chance of surviving.
