Subject: Help to find a fosterer/adopter for abandoned kitten

Hello Dr. Chan.

Today at around 2 PM I heard a loud persistent meowing sound outside my house. Upon investigation, I found a small little kitten in the trash compartment of my neighbour’s house. The kitten was all alone in the trash compartment, no siblings, no box, no food/water, nothing. As I was in a hurry to go somewhere, I decided to leave the kitten there for the time being, as the mama cat might be around somewhere looking for food or the mama cat might be in the process of transferring the kitten from one place to another.

But, when I came back 6 hours later, the kitten was still there. No mama cat in sight. My neighbour had done nothing to help the poor creature, either! The kitten also looked weaker & wasn’t meowing at all. So without hesitation I took it into my house. I made it warm a little & then brought it to the vet. The vet told me it is about 3 weeks old, the eyes are barely open (one eye has some sort of infection & is closed most of the time) & the kitten is still very wobbly when it tries to walk. Other than that, it seems to be fine. The vet gave me some pet’s milk & a bottle to feed it with.

The kitten is now safe & warm at home with me. I’m feeding it at 2 hour intervals & cleaning it up afterwards. I have no experience of taking care of kittens as small as this, but that’s not my biggest problem. My main problem right now is that I will be leaving for Thailand on Tuesday morning, in 2 days’ time. I shall be away until the 2nd of November.

So, I’d like to seek your help to find a fosterer or ideally an adopter for this tiny kitten. If it’s a fosterer, he/she must foster the kitten for me until I get back on the 2nd of Nov. Or better yet until I can find a suitable adopter for the kitten. As the kitten is still nursing, the fosterer must also have a mama cat that is able to nurse the kitten. Or else they must be able to bottle feed the kitten every 2-3 hours.

If someone is willing to adopt the kitten, I’d be willing to let it go to a new home, provided they’re loving & suitable.

Do you know anyone who can foster or adopt the kitten for me? And I wonder if you can blog about this too?

My location is Bandar Baru Bangi but I’d be willing to send the kitten anywhere within Klang Valley to the fosterer/adopter’s house. I can be contacted via sms/call/Whatsapp at 012-2294310.

Let me know, thanks in advance Dr. Chan. Photos of the kitten are attached.
