Youll Never Know What Makes People Tick

Why do I continue writing, whether books or this blog?
Because you’ll never know who reads and sometimes, miracles can happen because what you have written makes sense to someone…and makes a difference in his or her life.
This evening, I gave a public talk. It wasn’t about animals, but at the end of the talk, a lady came up to me and said she had read one of my books, Do We Have a Choice?. She said that of all my books that she had read, this book had the biggest impact on her.
So, what did she do after reading the book?
She thought about her lifestyle, her health problems, her many trips to the doctors’, and the whole plethora of medication that she had been taking all her life to address her health problems and she thought, “Why not give it a try and cut down on meat?”. Many people had been advising her to do this, but all the advice fell on deaf ears.
I don’t know which part of my book made her decide to cut down on her meat intake, but she decided to do it, and, in her words, “a miracle happened”.
She said in all her 53 years of eating meat, she had never felt as healthy and as well as she had in this one week (which was last week since she read my book and decided to drastically cut down on her meat intake). Her health problems were “gone”, she said. No digestion problems, no bowel movement problems, she felt so healthy and great. She didn’t even need her medication anymore.
This was absolutely unexpected and she was simply flabbergasted that a simple change in diet brought about such a remarkable and most welcomed improvement in her health.
She said everything made sense to her now. Her years of meat-eating had probably poisoned her with so much antibiotics and hormones (injected into the farm animals) that she became more and more sick with time.
But did this one week of giving up meat really miraculously healed her (which she believes) or was it an emotional and psychological effect, we don’t know. Or, was the time “right” for everything to fall into place? The point is and what matters is that she feels healthy and she feels so happy with herself now.
She said she had successfully “converted” to becoming 90% vegetarian in just one week and it really feels good. She is definitely keeping it up.
And finally she said that at her church, they always talk about miracles happening. She thinks this is a great “miracle” happening to her, and I am very touched that she quoted what I said as “the miracle of instruction”, that by saying or in this case, by writing the right words and letting others read it, a “miracle” happened.
Want to read the book?
The e-book is available here:https://sites.google.com/site/kindnesstoanimalsinc/do-we-have-a-choice-e-book
We’ll also be giving out all my animal books at Cutie Pet this weekend. Have a read, and pass on the message!
Cutting down on our meat consumption for a compassionate reason (to reduce the factory farming of animals where there is untold suffering) is a good thing.
What goes around, comes around.
