What are the chances of finding an American snake species on a HDB stairwell on 8th storey, right in our neighbourhood (CCK)? The saddest part was ‘PopCorn’, the young male albino Nelson’s Milk snake was already dead, with the front portion smashed against something, either stepped on or caught in a gap “It is infuriating! He is an exotic, and all snakes are illegal to be kept as pets in Singapore – so in the first place, he should not have been in Singapore; Secondly, was he abandoned or he escaped? How irresponsible can one get owning an animal!??? Thirdly, he is dead!!!! For doing nothing wrong!!!” – said Lester, our new rescue officer in frustration and sadness, watching ‘Popcorn’ lying still on our exam table!
