Yesterday in Jalan Bagan Jermal Penang I saw 3 dogs chained and dragged behind a fast moving lorry.. Many motorist were sounding their horn to the lorryman to stop.. The fearful dogs have apparently jumped out of the lorry back cabin without the driver notice and were hanging with their upper body up in the air and hind legs dragged on the tar road..

I saw trails of blood along the roads resulting from their hind paws being dragged or scoured. Paws were injured with their pads worn out..

I give chase and bang thhe lorry and with many of the motorist flagging the lorryman to stop, he came drown from cabin and told me that these 3 dogs were to be caught in downtown Jelutong and he was paid to dump them in the hills..

The sad and horrific thing was the mouths of the 3 dogs were heavily bounded by polyester tape ( to prevent them biting?? ).
They were already frothing at the mouth I guess as a result of exhaustion of being dangled for some distance..

They suffered some wound at their mouth/nose as a result of the binding tapes being so tightly wrapped that when removed tha tape peeled the furs..

I am tying the dogs in a friends shop for the day and will have to let the dogs go soon.. We have tended to the dogs basic need and need help.

With lesser strays or no strays at all, the loving value of animals will be greatly increased and you can be sure that humans will shower more love for their pets and be responsible pet owners. The problem should not only be shouldered by our Society as the public must also understand the urgent need to control the pet population and give their whole-hearted support to all our projects for the undertaking to be successful. Then we will achieve a clean and hygienic environment for the community. As a no killing organization, we are embarking on a two-prong approach towards the problem i.e public education and sterilization of the stray animals.
