Yeekay is finally safe — but his healing journey is far from over. 💔🐾

This gentle soul arrived with a severe, untreated wound on his neck — one that could have easily been the end of him. Whatever trauma he’d endured also left the right side of his face paralysed and led to the loss of his eye. He was in a fragile state and in desperate need of help.

Thanks to expert veterinary care and your support, Yeekay has made it through the worst of his physical treatment. Now he faces the next chapter of recovery: learning to feel safe again. ❤️‍🩹

Yeekay is a fearful dog, especially around people he doesn’t know. Our behaviourist, Curtis, says that while he’s slowly begun to relax with familiar faces, he remains deeply wary and uncertain. His emotional healing will take time — perhaps a great deal of it — but he won’t be facing that journey alone. With the ongoing, compassionate support of our behaviour team, Yeekay will be given every chance to feel safe again, in his own time.
