The Year of the Snake invites us to reflect on the unique and often misunderstood role these elegant creatures play in our world.

Snakes are remarkable allies in maintaining ecological balance, particularly pythons who are efficient at controlling the rodent populations.

Snakes have learnt to coexist with humans by keeping their distance– save for where their prey decides to hide. More often than not, our wildlife rescue officers are the ones running after them to catch and relocate!

This time, it’s us who need to keep our distance from them.
