Meet Whisper, a young scops owl who was grounded in a nature space a night ago, and had to be reunited with his/her parents by our rescue team using a telescopic pole. Whisper wants to whisper [screech] a message to everyone: πŸ¦‰βœ¨ Please give us some space! πŸ¦‰βœ¨

While it’s incredibly tempting to capture those enchanting moments of wild owls in our urban jungle, their peace and quiet is very important when they are at a crucial phase of parenting – when the baby owls fledge and leave their nest. Approaching a wild owl’s family, especially during these moments, can put their well-being at risk – when they take those important steps to learn from their parents to fly, to feed and hunt!

When baby owls fledge, they rely heavily on their parents for guidance and protection. But with human presence looming too close, the parents can hesitate to approach a lost fledgling πŸ˜” Thanks to many of you who wrote to us sharing concerns. ACRES has responded to many such cases where parents do not guide/approach their young due to presence of humans, and we appeal to fellow nature lovers to take the responsibility to be respectful wildlife watchers and give them the space!

πŸŒΏπŸ’š Remember, longggggg distance relationship is often the best relationship when it comes wildlife in the wild.
