From walking the dogs to walking down the aisle! 💘

This Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating the heartwarming love story of volunteers Paul and Nadda who met at the Gill Dalley Sanctuary and fell head over heels for each other.

What started as chance encounters during their walks around the sanctuary blossomed into much more. The pair exchanged vows on October 16, 2023, with Gan, one of Soi Dog’s visitor and volunteer coordinators, serving as their witness – a fitting choice given her instrumental role in introducing them by placing them in the same ‘run’ of dogs, sparking their connection.

Paul fondly recalls, “The first day I met Nadda… we shared a kennel run, and everything seemed better around her. I remember going home and seeing one of my neighbours. I told him I’d just met the girl of my dreams.” While Nadda remembers, “We would always run into each other during our individual walks, and we would always chat. It was like, this guy’s always around!”

Their advice for fellow volunteers? “Go for it! My volunteering journey has been hugely rewarding. And you never know, it might just lead you towards your soulmate,” says Paul. Nadda adds, “And keep watch for a fellow volunteer who seems to always be around!” 😉
