Do you remember Karhus? A 40-kilogram Alaskan Malamute, he certainly stood out among our sanctuary of street dogs. 🐺
Karhus came into our care in 2016 after a tourist found him chained up having been abandoned. He arrived dishevelled and skinny, though fortunately in good spirits.
After three years at the sanctuary, Karhus found a loving home with an expatriate couple living in Phuket in 2019. However, it quickly became clear to them that he simply wasn’t built for the tropical Thai climate, and it was time to introduce him to the cooler climate of Canada. 🇨🇦
Karhus has been with them in Alberta for more than four years now, and every update is a joy to behold. Here’s the latest one:
“Our beautiful soi dog Malamute enjoys the climate here, especially winter.
He is the most relaxed, laidback husky we have ever known, never escaping, chasing wildlife or other norms of his kind.
He is great and we think very kind thoughts of Soi Dog!”
While our dogs are now unable to be adopted to Canada on account of the CFIA ban, they can find homes in the USA, Europe and here in Thailand.
