This Worldrangerday, We Applaud Our Heroic Rangers..

This #WorldRangerDay, we applaud our heroic rangers who brave bad weather, difficult terrain, tight spots and many other challenges to protect our tigers. Anti-poaching initiatives include intensive patrolling through WWF-Malaysia’s Project Stampede. Established in 2018, Project Stampede mobilises Orang Asli to regularly patrol the deep forests of the Royal Belum State Park. They are joined by the all-indigenous Jahai Asli patrol team MENRAQ.
In the Belum-Temengor Forest Complex where WWF-Malaysia is working with the State government to patrol the forest, there has been an overall 90% decline in active snares with zero snares in 2022. This is a big achievement, considering that before 2018, just three patrol teams recorded more than 100 active snares in Belum-Temengor. We must keep up constant patrolling to combat the biggest threat to our tigers – poaching.
Please visit wwf.org.my/tiger to support our frontliners in the field. WWF-Malaysia conducts intensive patrolling in Belum-Temengor and monitors poaching hotspots, whilst channeling relevant information to enforcement agencies.
Your important donations will:
Support wages for field assistants to conduct patrolling and camera-trapping.
Provide daily rations for patrolling work.
Purchase camping equipment to carry out field surveys.
Thank you for supporting our courageous rangers and helping to secure the future of our Malayan tigers. #RoarForTheFuture #GlobalTigerDay #KitaJagaTiger #wwfmy
