Porka came to us at the beginning of 2021 in desperate need of a fresh start. One of our mobile clinic teams had caught her for spaying, but they admitted her for further treatment when they noticed her severely swollen front leg.

X-rays confirmed the cause of the swelling to be an old fracture and a subsequent infection throughout the limb. We dread to think how long she’d been left to limp along the streets in such a painful condition. By the time she reached us, the only option was to amputate the leg and rehabilitate her as tripod.
