From Thailand To Toronto Tripod Girl Picca Is Sett..

From Thailand to Toronto – tripod girl Picca is settling in perfectly to her new Canadian life! 🇨🇦

Picca was brought to Soi Dog in 2020 with a badly injured front leg after being struck by a car. The bone had splintered into pieces, almost piercing through her skin. Our vets had no choice but to amputate.

Picca recovered well after surgery and learnt how to navigate her way through the world on three legs, blossoming into a sweet and friendly girl as she went.

After just over a year at the shelter, Picca joined our amazing partner rescue Dog Tales in Canada in August and, with their help, she’s already been adopted! When her family visited Dog Tales, they bonded immediately with Picca, saying:

“We chose Picca and look forward to giving her a wonderful forever home with our two other dogs in a very nice house with a terrific, fenced garden.

She will have near-constant companionship as I work from home myself, and my parents live with us and are retired, so they are there most of the time. My daughter will, of course, be with Picca the most of us all, and she is wonderful with dogs and animals in general.

Picca will be VERY loved for the rest of her life. We also have a place on a lake and Picca will enjoy boat rides and swimming (if she likes to swim) and yes, she will have a high-end life jacket like our other two dogs!), and walks in the forest with us.”

Now that Picca (renamed Nova) has settled in, they followed up with:

“Nova is doing well overall and enjoying her new home – and we are enjoying having her with us at home! She is very sweet with us and LOVES belly rubs!

She has even started to enjoy playing with a ball in our garden, which was fantastic to discover! Her favourite thing is to run after the ball, bring it back, and then roll over for a belly rub! She also loves to lay down outside in the grass or in the dirt, and now on a bed we have for her on our deck.❤”

Please visit our website to give a rescued dog like Picca a chance to join your family: https://www.soidog.org/adopt-a-dog

While we are now unable to adopt to Canada on account of the CFIA import ban, we are able to adopt to the USA, Europe and within Thailand.
