Water, water everywhere… 🌧️

Last Friday was an eventful day at Soi Dog as we came in to find parts of the shelter flooded 😮

Heavy rainy season downpours had hit the north of Phuket overnight, breaching a canal in the local village which spilled over into nearby roads, rice fields and parts of the shelter too.

Our small dog and senior dog enclosures were among the affected areas, so staff rolled up their sleeves (and their trouser legs) and waded through the waters to help move them to higher, drier ground in new enclosures at the other side of the shelter. These enclosures were built recently thanks to your support 🙏

Thought a little unsettled, you can rest assured that no animals were harmed by the flooding and there has been no lasting damage to the shelter. The waters have since receded, and our small and senior dogs are back safe in their original enclosures.
